Who we are at Yummy Crock Pot Recipes...

We are busy parents who never could get used to the frozen foods you find in the grocery store. Our yummy crock pot recipes site was borne of our love of good tasting home cooked food.

Note: We have been asked how we came to be web site owners of YummyCrockpotRecipes.com. This is our true story.

The Truth as I Remember It

I once bought an ebook that cost me about $300 dollars on How to build a web site to make money from home. It would be a product site they said.

It was a good ebook but I still didn't know how to do the html on a web site so I had to buy a software program called Front Page to get my web site on the internet. That was around $200 dollars at that time if I remember right.

Then since I still didn't know any html I had to find and buy a template in order for my web site to be readable once I got it up on internet. Those cost $20 to $50 for a nice one.

Then I had to find some keywords for my site. So people could search and find me on the search engines. That costs money which I can't remember how much now.

Then I had to have a url web address to put it on which cost money. But someone had to host it so that was more money I had to put in.

Moving on I had to figure out what to make the site about. I just picked something that looked like I could do. The site was about wrist watches.

That was to start then the real work started!

1- writing the site

2- figuring out where things go on the site (remember I knew no html) I used trial and error.

3- submitting my site to search engines. I found a place to do it free but then they wanted a donation. So I gave them about $25.(I remember the joy of seeing my site on Yahoo for the first time)

4-Then I needed to have people link back to me. This is supposed to help your site some how. I had no idea how at the time. But that took so much time.

5- Then I had to somehow use the ftp to get it on my url!

6- Then I had to figure out how to link my pages together!

7-Those are just the major things it took get that site up and rolling.

What I Learned

What I learned fast was I should really have picked a subject I was passionate about! Unfortunately watches was not it!

Another fast fact I learned. I had to spend too much time promoting my site, etc... and less time writing. I liked the creative process!!!

So there I sat doing all the things I didn't like and none of the things I really wanted to do! Don't get me wrong I don't mind work but I figured I could have a part time job and do something I didn't care about.

The Good Part of the Story

After a few years I came across SBI (Site Build It!) It was so cool! It was made for me. I read the web site so many times for a couple of months.

The things that kept me coming back to look at the site were:

- not having to submit my new pages to search engines

-not having to know one single bit of html!

- They had a keyword tool!

- They had directions so extensive that they even showed you how to find something to write about you liked!

-they had an easy way to get links to your site

-I could do lots of writing about something I liked.

- I could be creative with only small jobs I had to do and SBI would do the rest!

-it was one price for a year!

Here's the Scary Part

The day I went for it and bought SBI! I was scared...but ready. I knew the price was good for all it said it would do. I found it to be all inclusive just as they said. woohoo!!!!

I followed their directions and Yummy Crock Pot Recipes was born. I put up so many pages those first few weeks because I could just write and write about cooking the easy way with my crock pot. I just knew I was not the only person in the world who was not a great fan of cooking but loved to eat.

I was right too! We have people from 65 countries who visit our web site!

Our thanks go out to our visitors and SBI for making Yummy Crock Pot Recipes the place to be when you want Homecooked food the easy way!
