Several variations of recipes for grits in the crock pot. Usually a 3 water to 1 grits ratio is used if you slow cook them 3 to 5 hours on low Over night on low is better but you will need more water.
With Peppers
2 c. regular grits.
6 to 7 c. water
1 t. paprika
1 t. salt
1/4 c. peppers
Put everything in the slow cooker and mix.
Cook: Low 7 to 9 hours, or High 3 to 5 hours
(add 1/2 c. more water for high).
Stir every hour or so.
With Cheese
4 c. water
1 c. grits
1/2 c. cheese
Put everything in slow cooker and mix.
Cook: Low 6 to 9 hours.
Add some butter and salt. Serve.
Regular
4 c. water
1 c. grits (not instant)
Put everything in slow cooker with some butter and salt.
Cook: Low 10 to 12 hours (all night also works)
You can add more water, milk, or cream for different variations
